Sacrificial anode cathodic protection for steel pilings of Huangdao Oil Wharf was finished in 1989, with the design life for 15 years and production value for 19 million (RMB). According to the detailed test and inspection in 2007, uniform corrosion occurred on pilings and the corrosion rate of steel pilings is merely 0.026mm per year. The result showed that the harbor was under well protection.
