To begin the process, seawater passes through a cell where electrolysis takes place as representd by the following formula:
NaCl + 2H2O ¡ú NaOCl + H2 ¡ü
The final product contains sodium hypochlorite up to 2500ppm(0.25%).The system is self-regulating,so cell output and electri-cal efficiency are maxinmized.A coarse filter can be added to strain large particles from the seawater.
